Troubleshooting APSU on a Lenovo Laptop

Summary

If your Lenovo laptop will not connect to the APSU wireless network normally, follow these steps to connect.

1.  Go to Start Menu and search for Services.

2.  Right Click on Services and Run as administrator.

3. Scroll down to “WLAN AutoConfig” and double click.

4. Choose “Log On” at the top.

5. Click the setting that says “This account:

6. Type in full username including the @apsu.edu and password and confirm password.

7. Hit Apply.

Once the wireless connects, you will need to do the following to make sure that it does not use those credentials when trying to connect to other networks.

1. Go to Control Panel

2. Choose Network and Internet

3. Choose Network and Sharing Center

4. Under view your active networks, click on Wi-Fi (APSU)

5. Choose Wireless Properties.

6. Click Security Tab at the top.

7. Click Advanced Settings.

8. Then under Specify authentication Mode, make sure the drop-down menu is set to User or computer authentication. 

9. Click Ok
