How do I connect to a network printer on my Windows 11 PC?

At this time it is against policy to add APSU network printers to personal devices. These instructions are for university-owned PCs only.
In the
Start menu
, click
Settings
.
Click
Bluetooth & Devices
on the left.
Click
Printers & scanners
.
Click
Add device
.
Wait for the list of nearby printers to populate. Scroll down and click
Add manually
.
Choose
Select a shared printer by name
and input
\\apbrps3\
and the
printer's name
. Most printers are named by their location so if you are unsure of the name, type your building's abbreviation to see a list. Click
Next
.
Click
Next
.
Click
Finish
.
To change your default printer, go back into
Printers & Scanners
and scroll most of the way down. Click the slider beside
Let Windows manage my default printer
so it is turned off.
Go back to the list of printers and click the printer you would like to be your default.
Click
Set as default
at the top.
