How to Clone a GovsSuite Instance

Below are the steps to clone a GovsSuite instance.

1. Log into the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as an Admin
2. Click On My Applications and then Fusion Applications
3. You should see a screen like this
4. Next Click on the instance you want to clone. In this case will pick Dev 2
5. From this screen you can see information related to this instance, Click on the Refresh tab
6. From this screen select Fusion Production (You can only clone from Production not to it)
7. From this screen, select Source Environment which would be Production and you can select refresh now or later which will allow you to schedule the clone.
8. You can also select data masking if you like. Data Masking will mask all personal information such as SSNs, emails, addresses, bank accounts, ect
9. From here set your schedule, note that the time is UTC which is 6 hours ahead of us. The date and time below shows you the time in central, so when setting the time and date, go 6 hours from when you want it. Then hit Submit at the bottom right and you are done. Please note that sometimes Oracle will prevent you from Cloning if you are on different patch versions between the test and prod instances. Sometimes usually at the end of the year there might be some blackout periods where you cannot clone.
