Add Geographic Location

This article explains how to add a city to a country in GovsSuite. All of the cities for the United States are already added, however, cities for other countries need to be added. The country name is present. 

  1. First go to Setup and Maintenance and then go to Manage Geographies
  2. Search by Country Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. Next highlight the country, select Actions, and se4lect Manage Geography Structure
  4. On this page you could copy the structure from another country and add lots of details like provinces, states, counties ect. We do not need anything more than a city for other countries. Click on Create then select City from the list and click AddUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  5.  Click Save and Close
  6. Next highlight the country and click Manage Geography HierarchyUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  7. Highlight the Country Click Actions and Create, type the name of the city and click Save and CloseUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  8. Click Done
  9. Highlight the Country and Select Manage Geography Validation, Check Enable List of Values and click Save and Close Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  10. Last step go to Scheduled Processes and run this Job Synchronize Financials Objects for Database Search with Expense Location as the Parameter. This ensures the new city shows in the list of values when travellers submit Spending Authorizations.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
