Overview
This article guides Austin Peay State University (APSU) users through accessing the IVS Vault (VALT) after they have been granted access. It includes prerequisites, step-by-step instructions, and troubleshooting tips for common issues such as missing roles.
Eligibility (Who is this for?)
• APSU faculty and staff who have been granted access to IVS Vault (VALT).
• IT staff assisting users with access.
Prerequisites
• You must have been granted access to IVS Vault (VALT).
• If accessing from off campus, you must first connect to the APSU VPN.
Important URLs
• VALT login portal: https://valt-hpb.apsu.edu
Access Instructions
1. Open any web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari).
2. Go to https://valt-hpb.apsu.edu.
3. Next, enter your university-issued email address (doej@apsu.edu), then click Continue.

4. Upon successful login, you will be directed to the VALT interface.
Off-Campus Access
• If you are off campus, ensure you are connected to VPN before attempting to sign in. Without a VPN connection, the login page will not load because you cannot authenticate.
Troubleshooting
• Cannot proceed past the email prompt:
• If you cannot log in after entering your email, you may be missing a required VALT role. A member of the VALT Admin group must assign the appropriate role to your account.
• If unsure of your department admin, contact your Department Chair.
• Off-campus access issues:
• Confirm you are connected to VPN (Global Protect) and try again.
• Try a different browser or clear your browser cache.
Support and Escalation
• For assistance or to request a role assignment in VALT, contact the GovsTech Service Desk.
• If additional escalation is required, contact VALT:
Security and Privacy
• Access to VALT is restricted to authorized users. Do not share your credentials.
• Log out of VALT and close the browser when finished on shared or public devices.
