Creating and Managing Inbox Rules

You can use Outlook's inbox rules to help manage your email more efficiently. For example, you can create a rule to automatically sort incoming email sent from TheGovSays to its own folder. Follow the steps below to access rules in Outlook.

  1. On a PC, click on the Rules button in the ribbon and click Create Rule....

  2. The next screen contains customization options for the rule. Check the appropriate boxes and click Advanced Options if you need to make further changes.

  3. On a Mac, click the Rules button in the ribbon and choose Create Rule....

  4. The next screen contains customization options for the rule. Give it a name and choose the conditions that incoming emails need to meet.
