Copilot Chat for Students
Microsoft Copilot Chat is an AI assistant available to APSU students through their Microsoft 365 account. It supports academic productivity by helping students brainstorm ideas, summarize information, draft outlines, and strengthen understanding of course content. Copilot Chat provides a secure environment tied to Austin Peay Single Sign-On (SSO), ensuring conversations stay within the Microsoft 365 trust boundary.
What Students Can Use Copilot Chat For

Summarizing class notes, readings, or lecture content

Generating study guides or practice questions

Brainstorming essay topics or project ideas

Clarifying complex concepts or explaining processes

Drafting outlines, templates, or structured frameworks

Learning how to use Microsoft 365 tools more effectively
Do Not Enter Sensitive or Personal Information
Although Copilot Chat is tied to APSU SSO, students should not submit:

Personal medical, financial, or legal information

Passwords or account details

Other students’ data

Private information is protected under FERPA
