Backing Up Outlook Emails on a Mac

If you are using the new version of Outlook, you will need to turn it off first. Go to
Outlook
and click
New Outlook
. If you are not using the new version of Outlook, skip this step.
Click
File
and then
Export...
.
Choose what you would like to export and click
Continue
.
Name the file and choose where to save it. Click
Save
. The location you choose should have sufficient space as Outlook backups can be quite large.
Click
Finish
.
To import your email backup into Outlook, click
File
and then
Import...
.
Choose
Outlook for Mac archive file (.olm)
and click
Continue
.
Navigate to where you saved the backup in step 4 and click
Import
.
Click
Finish
.
The backup will appear under the
On My Computer
section of Outlook. Click the down arrow to the left of the name of the archive to expand it out and see all of the folders.
