How do I connect to a network share drive on Windows 10/11?

  1. In the search bar at the bottom of the screen, type the name of the share drive server, beginning with two backslashes. Press Enter.

  2. This will bring up all of the share drives on that server. Select the one you wish to connect to. Right-click and choose Create shortcut. This will place a shortcut to the drive on your desktop.

  3. Click Yes.

  4. To map the drive so that it appears in the Windows Explorer, right-click on the name of the share drive and choose Map network drive….

  5. In the dialog box that appears, the drive letter will be automatically assigned. Click Finish.

  6. The drive will appear underneath This PC in Windows Explorer.
