Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

  1. In any browser, log into outlook.office365.com. You can also try using mail.apsu.edu.
     
  2. Click Next.

  3. The Microsoft Authenticator app is available for Android and iPhone. Download and install the app and click Next.

  4. Click Next.

  5. In the app, tap Add account.

  6. Tap Work or school account.

  7. Tap Scan QR code.

  8. With your phone, scan the QR code on your computer screen. Click Next.

  9. A two digit number will be shown on the screen.

  10. Enter the two digit number on your phone and tap Yes.

  11. Click Next.

  12. Input the phone number you would like to use in the box. To receive a code via text, select Text me a code and click Next. If you would like to receive a call instead of a text, skip to step 16.

  13. A six digit code will be sent to your phone. Enter it in the field and click Next.

  14. Click Next.

  15. Click Done.

  16. If you would like to receive a call instead of a text, input the phone number you would like to use in the box and select Call me. Click Next.

  17. You will receive a call from Microsoft. Press pound (#) on your phone when prompted.

  18. Click Next.
